Recipe Tip

When the pancake batter is baking, it will rise quite a bit. However, once you remove it from the oven and it begins to cool, it will fall back down.

Ingredients Needed To Make An Apple & Pear Puff Pancake

  • Crunch Pak® apple & pear slices – already prepared fresh apple & pear slices help speed up this recipe!
  • Butter – salted or unsalted butter will work.
  • Eggs – eggs help to combine the batter so it forms the batter and becomes puffy.
  • Milk – you can use any milk that you have on hand!
  • All-purpose flour – it will help thicken the batter.
  • Sugar – adds an extra layer of sweetness.
  • Nutmeg & cinnamon – these spices help to add additional flavor.
  • Maple syrup – to serve!

How to Make a Pear & Apple Puff Pancake

Preheat the oven to 425°. Place butter in a 10-in. cast iron skillet. Heat in the oven until the butter is melted, approximately 2 minutes. Tilt the pan to coat evenly with butter.

Place eggs, milk, flour, sugar and nutmeg into a blender. Cover and process until smooth. Pour into the hot cast iron skillet. Bake until puffed and starting to brown (approximately 15-17 minutes).

For the topping, heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add Crunch Pak® apple and pear slices, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Cook until the fruit is tender, stirring occasionally (approximately 13-15 minutes).

Remove the pancake from oven; fill with fruit mixture and serve immediately. Serve with maple syrup and whip cream, if desired.

Ingredients 

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup almond milk or any milk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Topping

  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 14 oz package of Crunch Pak® apple slices
  • 1 12 oz package of Crunch Pak® pear slices
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • Maple syrup

Instructions
