This Apple Pie Moonshine recipe is crazy delicious! It is super simple to make at home with just a few ingredients. We love how the flavors of SweeTango® Apples shine through in this moonshine recipe.

For our version of Apple Pie Moonshine, we made the Apple Cider and Apple Juice using SweeTango® Apples. Be sure to heat all the ingredients in a saucepan before adding in the vodka.

Do I have to let the moonshine sit?

With any homemade moonshine recipe, you are using a high proof grain alcohol. You want the moonshine to sit for 6-8 weeks to mellow out the strength of the alcohol. If not, you will have that burning sensation in your chest should you choose to try it out before that!

Should you want to enjoy the moonshine right away, you can switch out the 191 proof everclear with something less potent like vodka or everclear 151.

How to store apple pie moonshine?

With any moonshine it is not necessary to keep it in the refrigerator. You can store it in a sealed mason jar in a cool place in your kitchen. We have a few friends that enjoy keeping their moonshine in the freezer so it’s cool to drink.

This apple pie moonshine recipe consists of:

  • Apple Cider from SweeTango® Apples
  • Apple Juice from SweeTango® Apples
  • Sugar
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • 190 Proof Everclear (or highest proof vodka you can find)

How long does apple pie moonshine last?

When using a high grain alcohol moonshine will last for years if stored properly. Chances are it won’t be around for very long!

How to Make Apple Pie Moonshine at Home

First, begin by making the Homemade Apple Cider and Apple Juice using SweeTango® Apples. If you are looking for a quicker version, simply use apple cider or apple juice found at your local farmers market or grocery store.

Once the cider and apple juice are made, simply combine all the ingredients in a large mouth mason jar. Stir until combined and allow to sit for 6-8 weeks if you are using a high proof vodka. If you want to enjoy it sooner, a low proof vodka is best, unless you like a strong moonshine!

  • 1/2 c apple juice from SweeTango® Apples
  • 1/2 c apple cider SweeTango® Apples
  • 1 tbsp white sugar
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • pinch of apple pie spice
  • 1/4 c 190 proof grain alcohol
  • 1/4 c vodka

Instructions
