These Halloween Chocolate Covered Strawberries are absolutely adorable and super simple to recreate at home!
These Halloween Strawberries are easy to make with very minimal ingredients. Grab the family, head to the kitchen, and get in the Halloween spirit. For our festive strawberries, we decided to make Frankensteins, ghosts and pumpkins. There are so many other options out there, let your creativity take over!
Why isn’t the chocolate sticking to the strawberries?
When washing your strawberries, you want to ensure they are completely dry. If there is any water on the strawberry, it won’t allow the chocolate to stick.
Ingredients for Halloween Strawberries
- Strawberries, washed and dried
- White chocolate
- Red, Green, yellow food coloring
- Candy eyes
- Black icing writer/pen
How to Make Halloween Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Start by melting the chocolate in the microwave in :30 second increments. You will want to make sure it is melted and smooth before dipping.
Next, divide the the white chocolate into 3 bowls.
Next, add food coloring to make green chocolate. We used about 12 drops of green food coloring.
Once the chocolate is the color you are looking for, dip the strawberry into the chocolate and immediately add candy eyes. If icing hardens too fast, just add a little melted chocolate to eyes as a glue. Repeat the process for as many Frankenstein strawberries as you’d like to create.
Using writing gel add the details!
Next, make orange chocolate. Mix red and yellow food coloring to make it orange. We used 7 drops of yellow and 4 drops of red.
Once the strawberry is covered in orange chocolate, use the black icing to add details.
To create a strawberry ghost, dip the strawberry in white chocolate. Then, add the candy eyes. Then, either place a black sprinkle or use black icing to create the mouth and any other details you wish!
