Tips for Your Perfect Patriotic Charcuterie Board

  • Prep Ahead: You can wash and dry your berries a day in advance. You can also form your salami roses ahead of time and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Balance is Key: Aim for a balance of colors, textures, and flavors (sweet, salty, creamy, crunchy).
  • Don’t Overcrowd (Initially): Start by placing your larger items and anchor points, then fill in with smaller items to create a full look without messy overflowing.
  • Temperature: If serving outdoors, keep the board in a cool, shaded area. For longer periods, consider placing a larger tray of ice beneath the board to keep perishable items cool.
  • Customization: Feel free to swap ingredients! Think blue tortilla chips, red pepper strips, white cheese cubes, red licorice, or even chocolate-covered blueberries.
  • Dipper Variety: Offer a variety of items like pretzels, strawberries, or even vanilla wafers.

Easy 4th of July Charcuterie Board

Crafting this festive board is simple, even if youโ€™re a charcuterie novice. Follow these steps to create a beautiful and delicious spread!

Equipment

  • 1 Round Charcuterie Board
  • Small ramekins (for M&Ms and melted chocolate)

Ingredients

  • Fresh Strawberries (washed)
  • Fresh Raspberries (washed)
  • Fresh Blueberries (washed)
  • White Crackers (e.g., Ritz, water crackers, or butter crackers)
  • Brie Cheese (wedge or small wheel)
  • Salami (pre-sliced, for making roses)
  • Twizzler Bites (or similar red chewy candy)
  • White Chocolate Covered Pretzels

How To Make a Festive 4th of July Charcuterie Board

Set Your Stage: Begin with a clean, round charcuterie board. Place it in front of you on a flat surface, imagining it like the face of a clock โ€“ this helps with balanced placement.

Meats, Cheeses & Crackers

Salami Rosettes (Centerpiece): Start by creating your visual focal point. Tightly group three salami roses together in the very middle of the board. (To make salami roses, fold a salami slice in half, then half again. Overlap edges of folded slices and roll tightly. You can also use the rim of a small glass to help form them.)

Cracker Base: Around the salami roses, create a loose ring of white crackers. Fan them out slightly to form a textured base that frames the savory centerpiece.

Red, White and Blue

Red Fruit Burst: On one side of the cracker ring, create a vibrant pile of fresh strawberries and raspberries. Let them tumble naturally for an inviting, rich red burst of color and sweetness.

Blueberry Balance: On the exact opposite side of the cracker ring, pour a generous handful of fresh blueberries. Allow them to form a natural mound that balances the red fruits on the other side of the board.

White Chocolate Crunch: Near the berries (on either side), place a handful of white chocolate-covered pretzels. These add a satisfying crunch and continue the patriotic color theme.

And More!

Twizzler Pop: Tuck in Twizzler bites alongside either the strawberries or raspberries. They offer a fun, chewy texture and a bold pop of red color.

Brie Beauty: Add a wedge or small wheel of brie cheese near the edge of the board, perhaps close to the crackers or marshmallows. For an extra festive touch, you can lightly score a small star into the top of the brie rind with a sharp knife.

Fill the Gaps: Stand back and look at your creation. Fill in any small gaps or empty spaces with extra strawberries, blueberries, pretzels, or marshmallows to ensure the board looks full, abundant, and inviting.

Optional Festive Touches: For an extra patriotic flair, add small American flag picks, tiny sparklers (unlit, for decor only!), or other festive decorations near the center salami roses or nestled near the ramekins.

Get ready to impress your guests with this stunning and delicious 4th of July Charcuterie Board โ€“ the ultimate centerpiece for your patriotic festivities!
