Ingredients

jars of orange juice, pomegranate juice, lime juice, sparkling water, citrus rounds and pomegranate arils

As busy moms, we love it when you can literally throw a few ingredients in a bowl to make something delicious, beautiful, and nutritious. You’ll need only 6 ingredients for this sparkling citrus punch, and then it’s ready to serve. Be sure to get your kids in on the fun, too!

Juice

We used fresh juice from oranges and limes for the perfect balance of sweet and tart. The juice of each citrus fruit mixed with pomegranate juice creates the unique, natural red color of this sparkling punch recipe.

Bubbles

Next, you’ll use sparkling water to add the fizzy bubbles. Feel free to use non-flavored water or a flavor that you think will complement the pomegranate or citrus. For an extra citrus kick, we love lemon- or lime-flavored bubbles, or add another fruity layer with raspberry or passion fruit. Try a new flavor each time you make it!.

Garnish

We like to use up as much of our produce as possible, so it’s never wasted. Sliced oranges and limes add extra pops of bright color that complement the red of the pomegranate juice. Pomegranate arils add extra ruby red color, making this perfect for a holiday punch or your next backyard BBQ.

How to Make Sparkling Citrus Punch with Pomegranate

Now that you’ve got your 6 ingredients, grab your punchbowl because it’s time to mix it all together.

Step 1: Squeeze the citrus juice.

Roll the oranges and limes on your work surface to soften the flesh and help release the juice. Then cut the citrus in half, and using your hand or a citrus reamer, squeeze the juice out to get as much orange and lime juice as possible. Set the orange and lime juice aside in separate containers for later.

Add the citrus and pomegranate juices to a punch bowl with ice.

Step 2: Add the juices to the punchbowl.

Fill ⅓ of the punchbowl with ice. Use a shot glass measuring cup to measure out 6 ounces of orange juice, 12 ounces of pomegranate juice, and 3 ounces of fresh lime juice, and add them to the punchbowl. Stir with a large serving spoon or ladle until the juices are combined. It will be light red or dark pink in color.

Produce Mom Tip: Be sure to stir the juices before adding the sparkling water so the bubbles stay fresh and bubbly in your citrus punch.

Add sparkling water.

Step 3: Pour over with the sparkling water.

Pour 12 ounces of sparkling water, flavored or unflavored, over the citrus pomegranate juice mixture and gently stir just until combined to prevent the bubbles from going flat. Ginger ale also adds a spiciness that pairs well with the sweet, tart citrus.

Step 4: Garnish and serve.

Use a knife to slice as many oranges, lemons and limes as you’d like and add them to your sparkling citrus punch. Sprinkle pomegranate arils on top of your citrus punch for beautiful pops of ruby red. Sometimes we add fresh mint or freeze the pomegranate arils in the ice cubes to make it extra special.

Make it spiked!

Looking to make something special for the adults? Add ginger beer for a spicy, bold, and refreshing layer. Just be sure it doesn’t get mixed up with the kid-friendly ginger ale version for the kiddos.
