Breakfast Banana Split with Mixed Berries

We love coming up with new ways to get kids to eat a healthy breakfast. Often times, as busy Moms, it’s everything to get our kids out the door on time. The last thing want to do is spend time fussing over breakfast. What are banana splits made of?
In our breakfast version of the banana split we are using bananas, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, yogurt, honey, walnuts and/or honey.
How do you make banana splits?
First, open the banana and cut in half lengthwise. Place scoops of yogurt on top of the banana. The thicker consistency of Greek yogurt works best, but regular yogurt will do as well.
Try experimenting with different berry yogurt flavors! A scoop of blueberry, vanilla, and strawberry will give it the colorful appearance that banana splits are known for. If you want to mix it up, try using coconut, apricot, or key lime.
Next, add the berries. Naturipe berries are perfectly juicy and flavorful, just what this recipe needs. You can mix the blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries together or put each group of berries on a separate yogurt scoop.
Now for the crunch! Sprinkle some crushed California walnuts on top of the berries and around the edges of the dish. You can also swap the walnuts for granola or use them both for extra crispiness.
Finally, drizzle honey over the berries, nuts, and granola to top it all off. To give it that classic banana split look, put a bright red strawberry or cherry on top!
Creamy and crunchy, sweet and tangy, this treat has it all. It’s a tasty breakfast, but it makes a cool dessert for a hot summer evening too!
