The Banana Nice Cream Sundae is “Produce Kid” approved.  In actuality, my eight-year-old son, Avery, found a similar recipe in a kid’s magazine he was looking through and said, “Mommy, I think you need to put this on The Produce Moms.” And he was right!  Kids love sundaes – whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top! But the best part of this sundae is that it is made from bananas and our toppings include raspberries and our triple berry jam. What’s not to love?

How to Make a Banana Nice Cream Sundae

Nice cream is a nickname for frozen blended bananas. We’ve used it to put our own twist on ice cream with this Banana Nice Cream Sundae! You’ll love the cool, creamy texture and sweet, fruity flavor of this classic treat reimagined.

Some nice, creamy Nice Cream

While we love both ice cream and nice cream on their own (who doesn’t?!), a sundae is all about the toppings! Ours features fruity Triple Berry Jam and tart raspberries. Crunchy Rice Krispies and colorful sprinkles add some fun to these toppings. We capped it all off with a classic whip cream swirl and a cherry on top!

Combine berries in a large saucepan set over medium heat. Bring to a boil, mashing berries with a wooden spoon. Add lemon juice and continue to boil for 1 minute. Add sugar and cook, stirring constantly, until jam thickens enough to coat the spoon. Remove from heat and transfer to a dish to cool. Jam will continue to thicken as it cools, about 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
