✔️ Dry the carrots before adding them to the dip to prevent excess moisture from affecting the texture.
✔️ Press the cucumbers lightly into the dip so they stay in place but don’t sink too deep.
✔️ Chill before serving for at least 20 minutes to let the dip set and the flavors meld together.

Substitutions & Variations

Dip Options – Not a fan of ranch? Try Greek yogurt dip, hummus, sour cream & onion dip, or even guacamole for a twist!
Cucumber Alternative – If you don’t have cucumbers, try using thin strips of bell peppers, black olives, or even pretzel sticks for the basketball lines.
Carrot Alternative – Shredded carrots can work if that’s what you have on hand, or try orange bell peppers for a different texture.

Can I make this ahead of time?

Yes! You can assemble the dip a few hours in advance and store it in the fridge. Just make sure to add the carrots right before serving to keep them fresh and crisp.

What should I serve with it?

In addition to extra veggies, serve this dip with tortilla chips, pita chips, or breadsticks for more dipping options.

Can I use baby carrots?

Yes! Just slice them into thinner pieces to make them easier to arrange.

How To Make Basketball Carrot Dip

Spread the ranch dip evenly across the pie plate to create a smooth base. This will be the “court” of your basketball design.

Prepare the cucumber “lines” by slicing it lengthwise into long strips. Cut small slits where the pieces intersect so they fit together neatly, forming the iconic basketball shape.

Arrange the cucumber slices on top of the dip to create the basketball design. Press them gently into the dip to keep them in place.

Add the carrots by placing them around the cucumber lines, filling in the rest of the dip to resemble the orange color of a basketball. Make sure the carrots are dry so they don’t add extra moisture.
