A sweet and healthy treat!

Bananas are one of the best produce ingredients to use when feeding children. For one, kids usually like to eat them and that makes it easier for moms. They’re naturally sweet, and easy to eat. Bananas also happen to be healthy, full of potassium, fiber, antioxidants and Vitamin C.

What you’ll need…

To make Frozen Banana Yogurt Pops, you’ll need 3 ingredients: bananas, yogurt, sprinkles, wax or parchment paper, and popsicle sticks.

From plain to strawberry or any flavor in between, all yogurt flavors work for this recipe. We chose vanilla yogurt but you may opt for blueberry or chocolate — yum!

You can also change up the toppings. We went with sprinkles because we love the colorful crunch they add. But you may want to consider granola, mini chocolate chips, crushed nuts, or puffed rice cereal.  These frozen banana pops would also be yummy drizzled with chocolate syrup or peanut butter.

1. Begin by peeling the bananas and cutting them in half.

2. Insert a popsicle stick into the flat bottom of each banana half.

  2. I made these for my nieces birthday party this weekend. She loves yogurt and bananas so this was the perfect treat. The sprinkles made them look very festive and my sister liked that this is a healthy treat. The kids and adults at the party enjoyed them. I look forward to making more varieties. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

  3. Hi!
I want to make these for a school treat for a birthday. Do they only need to freeze for 2 hours or do they actually need to be stored in the freezer?
Thank you for saving the day with this idea!

    1. They need to freeze for at least 2 hours before serving. If you aren’t serving them right away, you will need to keep them stored in the freezer until you serve them! What a great idea for a birthday treat at school!

  4. I looked on a website and saw there are different size popsicle sticks. What size is good for the weight of the banana and yogurt?

      1. Hi, thanks for sharing these are so easy to make. I sure make them for my grandkids when they visit for holidays.

  5. I would like to try drizzling or deep peanut butter. Todo this should the peanut butter be warmed up so it’s soft or how would I go about doing so?

  6. Loved this project! I let the kids do them (ages 3-8) and they all had a blast. We added melted chocolate, piped over the top out of a plastic bag with the corner snipped off. There was a lot of chocolate eating, finger licking, and tons of smiles! Great slumber party night project for the cousins! Will definitely make this one again and include grandpa next time!
