Why are my chocolate covered apples cracking?

To prevent your chocolate from cracking here are a few simple tips:

  • Be sure to dry your apple off completely before coating with chocolate.
  • Take a paper towel and pat dry the sliced apple. The extra moisture can mix with the chocolate and either not allow the chocolate to stick or will dry and crack once the chocolate has set.
  • Have your apple at room temperature before covering in chocolate.

How do you wash apples before dipping in chocolate?

Simply rinse the apple under warm water or use a produce cleaner. Ensure that the apple is completely dry prior to slicing your apple.
