How to Cook Pizza Bagels in the Oven

If you don’t have an air fryer yet, no worries. Below are the steps to make these delicious Margherita Pizza Bagels in the oven.

Preheat the oven to 375°.

Next, lay out the bagel halves, brush with olive oil, tomatoes and mozzarella. Bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese has melted. Top with fresh basil and enjoy! Easy. Right?

How Long Do I Put Pizza Bagels in the Air Fryer?

We love to use the air fryer! It makes for quick meals, and the best part is that it doesn’t heat up the house. In our experience, every air fryer cooks a bit differently.

Start by preheating your air fryer at 370°. Then toast your bagels in the air fryer until you get the desired crispness. Top with the tomatoes, mozzarella and basil. Place back into the air fryer until the cheese has melted. This takes about 2 minutes in a Cosori Air Fryer. However, it took 4 minutes in a Ninja Air Fryer.

Ingredients Needed

Ingredients needed to make Margherita Pizza Balls
  • Plain or Everything Bagels
  • olive oil
  • seasonings: garlic powder (or garlic salt) and oregano. You can also use Italian seasoning if you prefer.
  • Mozzarella pearls – you can also use shredded mozzarella if you already have on hand!
  • Red Pepper Flakes – for a little bit of spice.
  • Basil Leaves

How to Make Pizza Bagels in the Air Fryer

Preheat the Air Fryer to 370 degrees F.

Halved bagels with olive oil and seasoning on top.

Bagels with all the toppings before toasting

Return the pizza bagel to the oven, and toast for 4 minutes or until the cheese is melted. Depending on your air fryer you may want to check on your pizza bagels after about two minutes to ensure the cheese doesn’t burn. Every air fryer is different in how they cook.

Remove the Margherita Pizza Bagels, and allow them to cool for 1-2 minutes before enjoying.

Store and Reheat

Should you have any Margherita Pizza Bagels left over, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or the freezer. When you are ready to eat them, you can simply heat them back up in the air fryer. For frozen bagels, it’s going to take about 5 minutes at 370° to heat all the way through.
