How long does it take to boil corn on the cob?

Typically, you want to boil an ear of corn in a pan of already boiling salted water for 4-5 minutes. However, in this recipe we are using milk, honey and butter. Therefore, we bring it to a simmer for 10-12 minutes so that the corn can soak up all the flavors!

How do I know when my corn on the cob is done boiling?

When boiling corn on the cob the kernels of the corn will have a more intense yellow to the kernel versus the pale yellow color that it had when you started the boiling process. The kernels will also “plump” up and become soft. If you need to test the boiled corn on the cob to see if it is done, take a sharp knife and poke a kernel with the tip of the knife. You want a soft, plump kernel.
