When the holiday season hits (or honestly, any time you need a stunning dessert), the pressure is on to create something that looks like it belongs in a bakery window. But let’s be real, between decorating and hosting, who has hours to spend tempering chocolate or folding puff pastry?

Enter the Berry Cookie Wreath. Using fresh berries and a few clever shortcuts, this dessert is high-impact, low-stress, and absolutely delicious.

Why We Love This Recipe

  • Zero Stress: Using refrigerated dough means you spend more time decorating and less time measuring flour.
  • Fresh & Bright: The tartness of the blackberries and blueberries perfectly balances the sweet cream cheese frosting.
  • Crowd-Pleaser: It’s easy to slice, share, and enjoy!
  • Variations: You can use whatever berries you have on hand or whatever your family enjoys! They are all great in our minds!

  • 1 package of refrigerated sugar cookie dough – the sweet, sturdy base
  • 16 oz cream cheese frosting – a tangy, creamy “glue’ for your berries.
  • Berries – we chose blueberries & blackberries for ours.
  • Fresh mint – to mimic the leaves of a real wreath.
  • Powdered sugar – for a beautiful “snow-dusted” finish.

Step-by-Step Directions

Prep the Pan: Start by greasing a standard pizza pan. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on your cookie dough packaging.

Spreading cookie dough on pan in wreath shape

Shape the Wreath: Spread your cookie dough evenly on the pan.

The Produce Moms Tip

Place a small, heat-safe bowl in the center of the pan and spread the dough around it to ensure a perfect circle. Just remember to remove the bowl before sliding the pan into the oven!

Bake & Cool: Bake as directed. This is the hardest part: let it cool completely. If the cookie is even slightly warm, your frosting will melt into a sugary puddle.

Spreading icing on baked cookie wreath

The “Snow” Layer: Generously spread the cream cheese frosting over the cooled cookie wreath.

Adding blueberries and blackberries to cookie wreath

Decorate: This is where you get creative. Arrange your berries over the frosting. You can do concentric circles, clusters, or a “wild” scattered look.

Adding mint to the berry cookie wreath

Add your Greenery: Tuck in sprigs of fresh mint to give it that authentic greenery look.

Dusting podwer sugar on berry cookie wreath

The Finishing Touches: Right before serving, use a sifter to dust the entire wreath with powdered sugar for a snowy effect.

Serving Tip

This wreath is best served fresh so the cookie stays crisp. If you’re bringing this to a party, wait to add the powdered sugar until you arrive so it doesn’t dissolve into the fruit!
