  1. I am fixing to make this and substitute the chicken for beef for my girl. She is super picky so I am hoping she likes it. Thanks for sharing.

  2. I doubled the recipe and added extra 1/2 cup water, same settings on pressure cooker and it came out just fine. I cook my proteins mostly chicken separate, 4 -5 frozen boneless thighs cup of water and high pressure for 12-13 minutes, tender and quick.

  3. I forgot to put in the water and it STILL came out great….my guys love it! The nutrition info says 199 cal…is that per cup?

    1. Usually it is recommended to feed 2.5% -3% of body weight based on how active your pup is.
So for the 8 lbs chihuahua it would be between 91-110 grams of food. The small kitchen scale can be helpful here.
Also if the pup is still very young and growing it will need more food. Make sure that you do include some calcium in the diet, it could be the egg shell – you can find on YouTube how to prepare it. Also I do buy kelp in the powder form and just sprinkle some on the home made food. A few times per week I give to my pups a small size capsule with omega3 oil (from Costco) – they do like it.

      1. I sure hope you feed her other food. This recipe is 199 calories per cup.

        ONE cup is 16 tablespoons.

You need to feed an adult Chihuahua minimum 40 calories per pound of body weight.

That is a MINIMUM of 320 calories per day for an 8 lb Chihuahua and on this recipe alone is 199 calories PER CUP. It is calories that matter not quantity.

My 7 lb Jack Chi eats 2 cups a day PLUS supplements and also kibble at times and barely keeps her vet recommended weight. You should consult your vet if you are under feeding your dog.

  4. Just got our Mia 8 weeks old had her first chicken and sweet potatoe meal she was in heaven. I mixed in a little hard fry bits for her teeth she ate the whole thing.
