What Are Blueberry Cookies?

The answer is simple…a cookie made from blueberries. In each and every bite, you’ll get the juicy blueberry flavor. Frozen blueberries are mixed directly into the batter, giving them the purple hue color without adding any added dyes or food coloring. Add in white chocolate chips for a sweet, soft and chewy cookie recipe.

Ingredient Substitutions

Blueberries – You can also use fresh blueberries. You will need to lightly dust the tops of the blueberries with sugar in the saucepan so that they “sweat” and produce juice.

Salted Butter – you can also use unsalted butter. If you choose to use unsalted butter, be sure to add in about a 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

White Chocolate Bars – You can also use white chocolate chips (morsels). Personally, the we love the big chunks of the chocolate bar from being chopped, totally at your discretion.

Ingredients Needed to Make Blueberry Cookies

  • Blueberries, frozen or fresh
  • Salted butter
  • Granulated and light brown sugar
  • All purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Vanilla extract
  • White chocolate chips or white chocolate bar

How To Make Blueberry Cookies

Preheat the oven to 325°. In addition, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Heat the frozen blueberries in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat until they have thawed and become soft. This takes about 3-5 minutes. Remove from the heat and allow the blueberries to cool.

In a large bowl, mix the butter, sugar and light brown sugar together until smooth and creamy.

Add in cooled blueberries and beat on high speed of your mixer until completely combined.

Stir in the all purpose flour, baking powder and vanilla extract until just combined.

Fold in the broken white chocolate bar or white chocolate chips.

Using a cookie scoop, scoop the dough and place on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for  8-10 minutes or until the edges have just set and begin to turn golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before enjoying!

Store Leftovers

To store any leftover blueberry cookies, plan in an airtight container or ziploc bag. Store at room temperature (out of direct sunlight) for up to 3 days.
