Meet Candace Wylie
Candace was born and raised in Indiana, where she continues to live with her daughter Madison and husband Eric. She began cooking when she was just six years old and has never looked back. Cooking is her passion and food is her love language. “Cooking is more than just something to do. It is a life skill, its necessary for everyone to know how to feed themselves.”
In addition to being a mom, wife, and cooking rockstar, she also has degrees in Organizational Management and Not for Profit Leadership from Huntington University and is the Chief Foodie and Creative Director of Food.Love.Tog.
Let’s ask Candace some questions!
Favorite fruit: Pineapple
Favorite veggie: Shallots
What’s one fruit or veggie you don’t really like: I’m not a fan of pickled cucumbers.
What’s your best tip for getting more fruits and veggies into your diet? Try them out! Go taste! Visit a farmers market, most people will let you try before you buy! You don’t know what you don’t know! Once you try, you’ll be amazed at the how the world will open you up to new flavors. Make a goal of trying something new once a month.
What’s your best tip for getting kids to eat more fruits and veggies? I hide them in everything. Carrots are my specialty. Carrots in everything!
What does being a Produce Mom brand ambassador mean to you? There is a produce mom in all of us. We all are trying to set our families up to be great eaters. Introducing children to fresh fruits and vegetables at a young age is imperative to setting them up for life. The more good, colorful food they see on their plates, the more adept they are to keep it going well into adulthood. Veggies and fruits have been a mainstay in my life, my entire life. I literally could go out and pick something fresh from the garden growing up. That stayed with me!
Meet Tara Rochford
Tara studied music and arts administration at Butler University, during which time she became a group fitness instructor and certified personal trainer in an attempt to feed her lifelong curiosity about health and wellness. After working as the fitness director on a cruise line, Tara realized that she had a hunger for more information about nutrition and health and longed to connect with and learn from like-minded people. Treble in the Kitchen was born in June 2011. In 2014, Tara took the plunge back into the academic world as she went back to school to become a Registered Dietitian. She is now completing her Dietetic Internship (training to be a nutrition expert) through the University of Northern Colorado and will complete the program this summer.
In addition to cooking and experimenting in the kitchen, Tara still loves to sing, run half marathons, take long walks through historic neighborhoods with her husband and Vizslas, and spend time with family.
Let’s ask Tara some questions!
Favorite veggie: Honestly, I think this rotates for me throughout the year but right now I am loving spaghetti squash and trying to soak it up before it’s out of season!
What’s one fruit or veggie you don’t really like: Mushrooms
What’s your best tip for getting more fruits and veggies into your diet? Include produce at every meal and every snack. I think of it like putting a puzzle together — the puzzle (or meal) isn’t complete without produce on the plate!
What’s your best tip for getting kids to eat more fruits and veggies? Get kids involved in the cooking process and give them a “specialty” dish to create like “Tara’s Terrific Salad!”
What does being a Produce Mom brand ambassador mean to you? I have a passion for all things nutritious and delicious (like produce!) and I am devoted to inspiring others to let go of any fear or anxiety in the kitchen and embrace creativity while trying new foods or techniques. I truly believe there is a Produce Mom in all of us!
