Banana and Blueberry Pupsicles

The weather is warming up and one refreshing way to beat the heat is with homemade ice pops. We’ve shared ice pop recipes for kids, boozy ice pops recipes for adults, and today we’re sharing a cool treat for dogs, Banana and Blueberry Pupsicles.

When fed in moderation, blueberries and bananas are safe fruits for dogs to consume (you should always speak to your vet first, however). Just as blueberries are a โ€œsuperfoodโ€ for humans, they also provide nutritional benefits to dogs. Blueberries contain antioxidants, fiber, and phytochemicals that are good for both you and your pup!ย Bananas contain potassium, vitamin C, fiber, magnesium, and vitamin B6. This combination can help your pup develop healthy bones and ease gastrointestinal issues.

PRODUCE MOMS TIP:ย While bananas are safe for dogs, the peels are not. They can form blockages and should be kept out of reach of dogs.

Most pups love a cold treat on hot days. To make Blueberry and Banana Pupsicles, use a blender to blend a banana with chicken broth. Add in whole blueberries and stir. Pour the mixture into silicon molds, like these, and freeze until solid.
