No Fumble Crockpot Sweet Potato Soup

Begin by peeling and chopping your Wada Farms’ sweet potatoes. Throw them in a slow cooker with white onion, vegetable or chicken broth, garlic, smoked paprika, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Cook on high for four hours or low for six to eight hours. Once cooked, blend the mixture into a velvety soup. Put the soup back in the slow cooker to keep it warm. 

If you don’t have an electrical outlet at your tailgate party, transport your soup in thermoses or tin mugs. It bonuses as hand-warmers this way!

No Fumble Crockpot Sweet Potato Soup

Perfect for tailgating! Serve from the Crockpot or in thermoses.

Ingredients 

  • 2 lbs Wada Farms' Sweet Potatoes cut into rough 2" pieces
  • 1/2 medium white onion chopped
  • 6 cups vegetable broth (can also use chicken broth)
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions 

  • Add sweet potato chunks, chopped onions, broth, garlic, smoked paprika, cinnamon, salt and pepper into a slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.
  • Once soup is cooked, blend until desired consistency. Serve hot. Optional: Top with cheese, bacon crumbles, parsley, crackers.

  1. This soup was delightful! Made it for the family this afternoon, and it made the house smell amazing! Fall is finally here, and I am loving these flavors. I used chicken broth and was a little heavy handed on the garlic – but it was great.
