Fruit Salad is a summertime staple. It’s a must at backyard barbecues and cookouts. This fruit salad recipe includes all the essentials… melon, kiwi, berries, and grapes. It also includes jicama, a round root vegetable that is crunchy, juicy, and sweet. Hazelnuts finish off this salad. Hazelnuts are sweet and buttery, the perfect topper for this flavorful fruit salad!

Hazelnut Fruit Salad can be made in just three simple steps! Begin by mixing the jicama with lemon juice, orange juice, sugar, and poppy seeds in a large bowl. Then, add the remaining fruit to the bowl. Lastly, top the salad with roasted hazelnuts and serve.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup hazelnut roasted and chopped
  • 1/2 lb jicama peeled, rinsed, and cut into matchstick pieces
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 cups watermelon cubed
  • 2 cups cantaloupe cubed
  • 1 cup grapes seedless, halved
  • 1 cup strawberries rinsed, hulled, and chunked
  • 1 large kiwi peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup blueberries

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, mix the jicama with orange and lemon juices, poppy seeds and sugar.
  • Add the rest of the fruit and toss.
  • Top with the hazelnuts and serve.
