Baking a Instant Pot Apple Dump Cake

To make this cake, you’ll need to place the cake mixture in an oven-safe bowl inside your instant pot. We used foil to make a sling to safely lower it down into the pot. Burning your hands on the pot really puts a damper on the fun of baking!
SweeTango Instant Pot Dump Cake
- 1 SweeTango apple diced
- 1 cup yellow cake mix
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- In a medium bowl, stir the cake mix, vanilla, cinnamon and egg. Then fold in the SweeTango apples to combine.
- Pour 1 ½ cups of water into your Instant Pot. Put a trivet at the bottom of your pot.
- Spray your oven safe bowl and dump the mixture into the dish. Cover that with foil, and make a sling out of foil to lower it on to your trivet inside the Instant Pot.
- Put the lid on the Instant Pot, close steam valve, and set to manual, pressure, high, for 28 minutes. Do a natural release.
- Take out, remove foil, and let stand for 10 minutes on a cooling rack.
- Top with ice cream. Serve and enjoy!

This cake is delicious alone, but it’s even better topped with a bit of ice cream! Vanilla works just fine, but feel free to get creative. A scoop of butter pecan ice cream might just take the cake!
