Strawberry Smorrebrod

This unique appetizer is a perfect choice when you want to serve something new and exciting. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and requires zero cooking!

  • bread French-style or firm white bread, thin slices
  • 4 tsp butter softened
  • 1 pkg cream cheese cut in 4 slices
  • 4 rings green bell pepper
  • 8 large strawberries hulled halved


  • Spread 1 teaspoon butter on each slice of bread, covering completely.
  • Top each with a slice of cream cheese.
  • Spread the cheese to cover the entire piece of bread.
  • Top each with a green bell pepper ring and 4 strawberry halves.


If you are using white bread, remove the crusts.
You may substitute Danish blue cheese for the cream cheese and seedless green grapes for the green bell pepper and strawberries.
