Health Benefits of White Onions

There’s one ingredient, in particular, you might not realize packs in so many health benefits — white onions! Onions contain loads of vitamin C and are a good source of fiber. But that’s not all!  Onions contain organosulfur and other compounds that are known to help increase circulation, lower blood pressure, and prevent blood clotting. They fight free radicals that can cause disease. Quercetin, a flavonoid found in onions, is a potent antioxidant with anti-allergy, antiviral, and antihistamine properties. Not to mention they are low in sodium, fat-free, and cholesterol-free.

Peri & Sons Farms’ famous Nevada Whites™ are the cream of the onion crop! Peri & Sons farming roots run deep — more than 100 years and multiple generations. When it comes to onions, it doesn’t get any tastier than their non-GMO Nevada Whites™. Their clean, tangy flavor leaves no aftertaste and is perfect in a variety of dishes. In addition to these chicken fajitas, Nevada Whites™ are delicious in stir-fries, salads, and tacos.

Now, more than ever, it’s important to support brands that grow food with integrity. Peri & Sons Farms is committed to growing their onions with environmentally responsible farming practices that have a positive impact on the social and economic well-being of their local communities.
