A festive cocktail for the most festive time of year!

The holidays are the most festive time of year and they deserve a festive cocktail! This year, in addition to beer or wine, why not serve a signature cocktail at yourย holiday gatherings? Cran-Orange Gin-Gin Mules will be a welcomed addition. They’re as yummy as they are fun. And let’s face it… when Aunt Sylvia won’t stop talking about her cat and your brother gets ranting about politics… you’re going to need a cocktail!ย

Just like a traditional mule, a gin-gin mule includes ginger beerย and lime juice. A traditional mule typically uses vodka whereas a gin-gin mule uses, you guessed it, gin! A gin-gin mule also incorporates fresh mint, which adds a refreshing note.

A classic gin-gin mule is pretty darn good, but it’s the holidays so we had to jazz it up! To add some holiday cheer, we added a cranberry simple syrup and muddled clementine oranges. Thus, the Cran-Orange Gin-Gin Mule was born!

The first thing you’ll notice about a Cran-Orange Gin-Gin Mule (other than its rich red color) is the aroma of mint. Heavenly! Take your first sip and if you weren’t already in the holiday spirit, your taste buds will get you there. The cranberry simple syrup is a nice balance between tart and sweet.ย The muddled clementinesย add a subtle citrus flavor. The ginger beer brings the fizz and adds a distinct gingery bite. The gin contributes its distinct juniper flavor that is even moreย beloved around this time of year. Basically, a Cran-Orange Gin-Gin Mule is like a holiday party for your mouth!

Cran-Orange Gin-Gin Mules have a beautiful red color so not a lot of garnish is needed to make these babies festive. A sprig of mint and an orange peel twist will do it. If you’re feeling particularlyย spirited, throw in a couple of whole cranberries too! It is the holidays after all, so go all out!
