The Benefit of Fruits and Vegetables on Mental & Physical Health - The Produce Moms

During this time of high stress in our country and all over the world, it is important to find anything that will help people with both mental and physical health. And there is no better time than right now for increased life satisfaction and happiness!

Can fruits and vegetables actually put you in a better mood and increase your mental & physical health?

Research says they do.

Produce for Better Health Foundation followed up on research conducted abroad that showed an emotional connection between eating fruits and vegetables and overall life satisfaction and happiness. “We connected consumption habits with those psychological measures and we found the same thing,” said PBH President & CEO Wendy Reinhardt Kapsak, MS, RDN.

“Overall life satisfaction increased as did happiness when people were eating more fruits and vegetables.”

Believe it or not, picking up a fruit or vegetable – whether it’s fresh, frozen, canned, dried or 100% juice – could provide psychological benefits. So here’s a plan: Have A Plant™!

Watch our full interview to learn more about how fruits and vegetables can help people increase their mental & physical health. And learn a few other things about Wendy and the work PBH is doing with their Have A Plant™ campaign.
