Frying SweeTango® Apples from Applewood Fresh
If you want a good meal, use good ingredients! That’s why we’re using SweeTango® apples in this recipe. Sweet with a hint of citrus, honey, and spice, these apples are perfect for frying up in personal pies or for snacking out of hand. Bite into one of these juicy, blushing red apples and you’ll experience a remarkably loud and satisfying crunch!
The SweeTango® apples we’re using come from Applewood Fresh, growers of some of the tastiest apples we’ve ever tried. There’s even evidence to back it up! Applewood Fresh grows their fine fruits in Michigan orchards. According to taste testers, apples from the Great Lakes State are juicy, crunchy, and flavorful. That’s thanks to Michigan’s nutrient dense soil, molded millennia ago by glaciers and regulated by the climate of the surrounding lakes.
Applewood Fresh draws from the rich history of Michigan’s family-run orchards, combining traditional quality with modern safety. State-of-the-art packing, traceability, and responsible sustainability practices mean Applewood Fresh is well equipped to bring fresh, safe, and tasty apples to your local grocery store.
Air Fryer SweeTango® Apple Pies
We love pie – and we really love that we can eat these Air Fryer SweeTango® Apple Pies with our hands! Without getting funny looks, that is. But these pies aren’t just easy to eat; they’re easy to make, too!
Start by making the filling. You’ll need to alternate microwaving and stirring to get the mixture just right. While you’re waiting for the microwave, cut the rectangular pie shapes out of your pie crust. Start heating up your fryer, too. That way it will be hot when your pies are ready to bake!
If you’re baking several pies, you may need to fry them in batches. When using an air fryer, it usually helps to make sure the things you’re cooking don’t touch so they’re don’t get stuck together. As you wait for your pies to fry, mix your glaze. Drizzle some over each pie as it finishes baking.
We hope you and your family love these Air Fryer SweeTango® Apple Pies. They make a fun family cooking activity and fit nicely into lunchboxes. And they’re especially good when dipped in some caramel sauce! What did your family think of these miniature pies?
