Show your love with gelatin pomegranate hearts! These adorable pomegranate hearts are perfect for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, birthdays, or anytime you want to say “I love you!”
These cute hearts require just four ingredients: gelatin, rose water, pomegranate juice, and pomegranate arils (aka pomegranate seeds). You’ll also need heart-shaped molds, which you can find online or in craft stores.
This recipe takes only fifteen minutes to make but your hearts will need about three hours to chill, so plan accordingly.
How to Make Pomegranate Hearts
Anyone can make these fun heart-shaped treats! Begin by “blooming” your gelatin in a half cup of cold pomegranate juice. Blooming gelatin refers to the process of sprinkling the gelatin in liquid (usually cold water but in this case cold pomegranate juice) and allowing it to soften. This process takes about three to five minutes and ensures it dissolves easily with the remaining ingredients and prevents lumps from forming.
While your gelatin is blooming, bring the remaining pomegranate juice to a boil in a small pot. Once it begins to boil, remove it from the heat and stir in the rose water. Then, whisk in the bloomed gelatin mixture until it is completely dissolved.
Once all of your ingredients have been combined and whisked well, pour it into your heart-shaped molds. Divide and add the arils evenly into the molds. Chill the molds until set, which typically takes about three hours.
