While this recipe is simple and includes a store bought buttercream icing, the taste is simply extraordinary. This bundt cake is a wonderful dessert that the kids are going to love thanks to the addition of the sprinkles!

Ingredients

– All-purpose flour – Baking powder – Cinnamon – Nutmeg – Baking soda – Kosher salt – Butter – Dark brown sugar – Cane sugar – Large eggs – Vanilla extract – Buttermilk – Green or red anjous pears – Buttercream icing

How to Make a Pear Bundt Cake

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease and flour (or use a baking spray with flour in it) a 10-inch fluted tube pan or 10-cup bundt cake pan. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, baking soda & salt.

Step 3:  Next, beat the butter in a separate bowl (of a stand mixer or hand mixer) on medium speed for about 25-30 seconds.  Add in both sugars. Then, mix on medium for another 25-30 seconds. Scrape down all sides of the bowl, then increase speed to medium-high, and mix for approximately 4 minutes until light and fluffy.

Step 4: One at a time, add the eggs while beating for 45 seconds for each egg. Mix in vanilla extract and beset for another 15 seconds.

Step 5: Alternately, add in the flour mixture and the buttermilk, mixing until just combined after each addition.

Step 6: Next, spoon the mixture into the prepared bundt pan. Sprinkle the chopped pears as you go. Then using a butter knife, gently swirl the layers together. Make sure to smooth the top evenly.

Step 7: Tap the bundt pan gently a few times to settle the batter, then bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Step 8: Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes in the pan, then invert onto a cooling rack to cool completely.

Step 9: Spread the buttercream icing on the bundt cake as desired and add sprinkles!
