Ingredients
3tbspUnsalted butter
¼cAll purpose flour
2c2% milk
12oz.Velveeta cheesecubed
1Garlic cloveminced
½tspKosher salt
½tspBlack ground pepper
Instructions
Begin by making a roux. A roux is melted butter and flour mixed together until it's thick. It's almost like a paste and thickens the cheese sauce. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Once the butter has fully melted, add in the flour and combine. Cook for about a minute or two to let the flour taste cook off.
While constantly whisking, add the milk slowly into the saucepan. Continue to whisk over medium heat for 3-5 minutes until the mixture becomes thick.
Remove from the heat and add in the Velveeta, garlic, salt and pepper. Continue whisking until the Velveeta has completely melted and you have a smooth consistency.
Serve over broccoli, tortilla chips, pasta, baked potatoes or any other of your favorite ways to serve cheese sauce.
