It comes together in just 5 minutes, and it pairs well with apple and pear slices or other popular charcuterie board options!

Ingredients Needed for Chocolate Hummus

For the Chocolate Hummus – black beans – you can also use a can of chick peas if you prefer – cacao or cocoa powder – dark brown sugar – if you have light, you can use that as well – nut butter – you can also use tahini – almond extract – this helps to amplify the nutty flavor – fine sea salt – maple syrup For the Board – Sage Fruit apples, sliced – Sage Fruit pears, sliced – Graham crackers – Pretzels – Dates

In a food processor, add in the black beans, cacao powder, dark brown sugar, nut butter, almond extract, and salt. Process until smooth like a batter. As needed, stop to scrape down the sides of the machine.

Next, add 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and blend again until the mixture looks glossy. The hummus should have a smooth and whipped consistency. You can add water (or more maple syrup as needed).
