Ingredients
¼cuporganic cane sugar
6-7whole cherriespitted
¼cupcherry juice
2tbspfiltered water
2tspvanilla bean paste
Instructions
Combine Ingredients: In a small saucepan, combine the organic cane sugar, pitted whole cherries, cherry juice, and filtered water.
Simmer and Infuse: Place the saucepan over low heat. Stir gently until the sugar is completely dissolved and the mixture begins to simmer.
Infuse Cherry Flavor: Continue to simmer gently for 3-5 minutes, allowing the cherry flavor to infuse into the syrup. Use the back of a spoon to lightly press down on the cherries to release more of their juice. Avoid letting the mixture boil vigorously.
Add Vanilla: Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla bean paste.
Cool and Store: Allow the syrup to cool completely. Strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the cherry solids, if desired, for a smoother consistency. Store the Homemade Cherry Vanilla Syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
