Turkey Taco cups will soon become a go-to recipe for your family taco night. They are delicious and light. Plus, they are guilt-free. Ingredients for Turkey Taco Cups

  • Tanimura & Antle Artisan® Romaine
  • Olive oil
  • Chopped yellow onion
  • 95% lean ground turkey
  • Cloves garlic
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Chili powder 
  • Ground cumin
  • Paprika
  • Tomato sauce
  • Low-sodium chicken broth
  • For Toppings:  Crumbled cotija cheese , pico de gallo, diced red onion, diced avocado or guacamole, chopped cilantro, sour cream

How to Make Turkey Taco Cups

These are so easy to make, and you can always vary your toppings with all of your favorites.

  1. Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add onion and sauté for 2 minutes. Then, add the turkey and garlic, season with salt and pepper, and cook, tossing and breaking up the turkey occasionally, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. 
  3. Next, you will add chili powder, cumin, paprika, tomato sauce and chicken broth. Reduce to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until sauce has reduced. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Chop topping ingredients to desired size & place in serving bowls
  5. To prep Tanimura & Antle Artisan® Romaine, chop the root end off, as close to the end as possible.  Separate leaves.  
  6. To assemble taco cups, place two closely sized Artisan Romaine leaves on top of each other, top with ground turkey mixture and then toppings of your choice.  

More Tips and Ideas to Make Your Turkey Taco Cups

  • For an extra crispy crunch, chill washed Artisan Romaine leaves in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before prepping.
  • You can make the filling in advance and store it in the fridge or freezer until ready to heat and use.
  • If you prefer a different kind of protein, any substitute will work.
  • If you like your dishes a little spicer, you can add hot sauce, use spicy chili powder or red pepper flakes.

  • 2 heads Tanimura & Antle Artisan® Romaine
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil

  • 1/2 cup Low-sodium chicken broth
