We’re in the midst of a Brussels sprout revival. While they were once (unjustly) reviled by children everywhere, folks are finding out just how delicious they actually are! There are many ways to prepare Brussels sprouts to unlock their flavor potential. But they’re especially irresistible when they’re aromatic, crunchy, and fresh out of the fryer – especially when paired with their best friend, bacon.
Want to enjoy this flavorful veggie without putting a damper on its nutritional benefits? Then try these Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts, brought to you by our friends at North Bay Produce. No one will turn their nose up at the sight and scent of this delectable dish!
How To Make Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts
An air fryer makes these sprouts easy to serve. Not only that, it also helps preserve the nutrition within. Air-fried foods contain up to 80 percent fewer calories than traditionally-fried alternatives. They also contain less fat. As the name suggests, air fryers cook food using heated air (up to about 400 degrees) instead of oil. That means less grease, less fat, and more crispy-fried goodness.
These Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts are a snap to make. They’re the perfect side for a restaurant-quality meal on a busy weeknight. But honestly, we could snack on them any time of day or night!
To start, just chop the Brussels sprouts and bacon to the appropriate size and toss your ingredients together. Then, put it all in the air fryer. Don’t forget to shake the mixture halfway through.
Once the Brussels sprouts are ready to come out of the air fryer, plate them and top them with grated parmesan cheese. Yum!
It’s Sprout Season All Year Long
We made our air fryer Brussels sprouts with veggies from North Bay Produce, and we think you should too! Why? Because produce that’s in season is tastier and more nutritious than out-of-season fruits and vegetables – and North Bay Produce is always in season!
They manage this miracle with a grower cooperative that stretches across the Western Hemisphere. From its headquarters in Traverse City, Michigan, North Bay experts coordinate shipping and distribution of produce from the United States, Mexico, Central America, and South America. While farms in one region may not be in the right season for a certain fruit or vegetable, those in another might be right in the middle of their opportune growing season.
No matter what time of the year you find yourself in, it’s always growing season for your favorite produce item at a North Bay farm. And it’s all grown using sustainable and innovative agricultural methods so you can feel good about eating it. Check your local grocery store for blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, asparagus, snow peas, sugar snaps, pomegranates, figs, and of course Brussels sprouts bearing the North Bay Produce logo.
