"Sweet" Produce for your Sweetheart {Indy Style} - The Produce Moms

Treat your sweetheart to a sweet meal.

Valentine’s Day is next week! Are you ready? Today on Indy Style, Lori Taylor shared delicious recipes featuring sweet produce items that you can serve your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day.

Sweet Lime Cocktail with Braspberry Garnish

In many cultures, sweet limes are popular for their medicinal properties for fighting cold, flu, and fevers. The sweetness you taste isn’t from a higher sugar content—it’s from a lack of acidity. Sweet limes are low in acidity but still contain all of the nutritional benefits found in limes and lemons.

Sweet limes are great in cocktails and teas and are wonderful for baking. They provide a sweet citrus flavor without added sugars or simple syrups. When baking with sweet limes, you can reduce your added sugar by 1/3. That’s how sweet they are!

Sweet Lime Cocktail with Braspberry garnish

  • Ice Cubes
  • Juice of 1 Sweet Lime
  • Seltzer Water or Club Soda
  • Gin
  • Basil
  • Braspberry (blueberry inside of a raspberry)

  • Place ice cubes, sweet lime juice, seltzer water, and gin in a cocktail shaker and shake.
  • Slap basil against your hand 5-10 times to activate the herb and release the flavors.
  • Garnish the cocktail with slapped basil and Braspberry.
