Apple Turnovers

  • 2pieces pita breadwhole-wheat, cut in half (4 pockets)
  • 2 appleskin on (I recommend Honeycrisp, Sonya, Fuji or Gala)
  • 1tbsp maple syruppure
  • 1/4tsp cinnamon
  • 4tbsp cream cheeselow-fat whipped (I used Greek)
  1. Rinse, core, and slice apples.
  2. Sprinkle apple slices with cinnamon and place in a microwavable dish. Add maple syrup.
  3. Cover the dish with a lid or microwavable food wrap and microwave on high for two minutes.
  4. Stir and microwave for an additional minute or until apples are tender.
  5. Toast Pita halves.
  6. Spread 1 tablespoon of cream cheese inside each pita pocket.
  7. Divide apples into four equal portions and scoop into pita pockets.
